Visual Arts
The visual arts include the traditional fine arts of drawing, painting, sculpting, printmaking, architecture, and photography, as well as crafts, industrial design, commercial art, performance art and electronic arts. The visual arts curriculum taught at The Cordes Art Studio is intended for teachers who want to discover how to help students develop their creativity, as well as their ability to communicate with other people through visual images. In doing this, teachers sharpen their powers of observation and learn to understand and appreciate a wide variety of art works. In order to make visual art works, teachers need to acquire a range of skills and some specific knowledge. The expectations identified for each grade describe the specific knowledge and skills that students are expected to develop and demonstrate in their work. These skills are sequential and cumulative.
At Cordes Art Studios, we teach the sometimes fast, surprisingly easy, and always fun projects that will engage students in meaningful art-making activities. Whenever requested, the study of visual arts is linked to particular studies in other subject areas to enhance the students learning experience and better equip them with the understanding of their course content. Originality and hands-on workshops at The Cordes Art Studio gives teachers the advantage of using a basic array of techniques to apply a repetition necessary to reflect the progressive nature of skills development. Watch your students' progress successfully under your tutelage, from grade to grade, with passion and proficiency.
